What a Day
Location is Purva Venezia, Yelahanka, Bengaluru
Boastful of a man-made habitation
On the frilling border of Bangalore
Its locale has been of material interest
Luxurious feeling puffs up hearts
The door is huge; stands majestic
Its manning is of magnitude; it’s fidgety
Activities speak of nutritional plants
The vehicular move is an alive lifeline
Its pedestal path not even but busy
Daily meal providers are vibrant with
Two-wheelers’ horn, cell phones tinkle
Maids work on different Flats,
Seen on galloping steps awhile
Back home, cell phones are glued to ears
Processional retreat, stew-ridden return
Their daily bread awaits another turn at Eve
Bamboo grove, creepers, unnamed trees
Show off their grandeur on a plane, naive
Individuals on security points gross in check
Though their security at stake; depends on
The compassion of proprietors’ occupancy
A relentless watch would ensure their stay
On good book is like a daily square meal
Necessary stuff to beautify the day only
Uncertain the next, they live
On tenterhooks of expectation
The shade is so serene; even for the zoom of
Air Force flight does not divert their attention
Trekkers’ rattling horns pollute silence
Noon’s searing heat doesn’t penetrate
The gravel path of imagination
Limousine, Suzuki, BMW, SUV, Ford, Tata,
Mahindra, Volkswagen, Renault, Tankers,
Different carriers remain busy on a noisy way
Couriers hell-bent to reaching on time
Broomers sweat even in cold condition
Butchers’ nonchalant behaviours
Cobblers’ sweet will activities breed anger
People haplessly shelter there
Crystal-clear blue-sky overhead is a consolation
On this expansive hearth and home
House fronts’ anxiety of kids’ return on pool car
Await on the kiosk of road
Drivers’ calculation can’t extract the edge of happiness
Moms are busy rescheduling their mapping
Things turn on somehow
Mental equanimity is rarely found
No interaction foments, demands the soul’s
The aspiring object for fulfillment!
Dream on hammock these people hardly have!
Return home means for the morrow’s run!
